What we keep, and why.

Caviar Radio is a small independent station. We collect as little as the broadcast needs, we never sell it, and you can ask us to delete it at any time.

01 — Overview

The short version

Listening to the live stream does not require an account. If you create one — to post in the feed, join the lounge, request a song or vote in a poll — we store the details needed to run those features and nothing more. Last updated October 2026.

02 — What we collect

  • Account details: your email address, display name and — if you add one — a profile avatar and short bio.
  • Community content: posts, comments, likes, lounge messages, reactions, song requests and poll votes you submit.
  • Listening activity: which sector of the station you opened and how long you listened, in aggregate, so we can understand what is being heard.
  • Technical data: the standard information a web server receives when a page loads, such as browser type and approximate region.

03 — How we use it

  • To run the station: authenticate you, show your posts and requests to the community, and keep conversations in order.
  • To programme the broadcast: understand which shows and sectors listeners return to.
  • To recognise engagement: badges and milestones are calculated from your activity inside the station.
  • To keep the space safe: review reports and remove content that breaks our terms.

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising.

04 — Storage on your device

We keep a small amount of information in your browser: your sign-in session and your light or dark theme preference. We do not run advertising cookies or third-party tracking pixels.

05 — Third-party services

Parts of the station are embedded or linked from outside platforms — Mixcloud, SoundCloud, YouTube and Instagram, plus listening directories such as RadioCult. When you open or play content from those services, their own privacy policies and cookies apply. We only receive aggregate figures from them, such as play counts.

06 — Retention

Account and community data is kept for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, your profile and personal identifiers are removed; posts and messages you left in shared threads may remain, attributed to “former listener”, so conversations stay readable. Aggregate listening statistics are kept without any link to you.

07 — Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also object to how we use it. Requests are handled within one month. Use the contact page and we will confirm what we hold.

08 — Children

The station is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly hold accounts for them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

09 — Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will note the change on this page and update the date above. Continuing to use the station after a change means you accept the updated policy.
